Complexity-Based Pricing

At EMKAL, we support our clients’ full IT infrastructure and not just their workstations. For this reason, our quotes are based on the unique IT complexity of your organization and not a simple workstation count. We then fine tune pricing as we understand your organization’s unique support demand.

When evaluating a potential client with at least 10 workstations, our main criteria are the following:

Low complexity

~ $65/workstation/month

  • Single site located in the West GTA
  • No on-premise servers; all cloud-based (e.g. Office 365)
  • Windows 10 Pro on all workstations
  • Limited networking hardware, all modern
  • Common software deployed (e.g. Microsoft Office, Acrobat Reader)
  • Cybersecurity best practices already deployed (e.g. 2FA, awareness training, password policy)
  • Third-party managed phone solution

Moderate complexity


  • Multiple sites across the West GTA
  • On-premise warrantied servers running supported operating systems (e.g. Windows Server 2016 or 2019)
  • Standard user VPN (e.g. L2TP/IPsec, OpenVPN)
  • Standard VoIP solution which requires support (e.g. RingCentral, Avaya, 3CX)
  • Windows 10 Pro or Home on all workstations
  • Warrantied networking hardware
  • Various off-the-shelf software deployed (e.g. WMS, CRM, ERP)
  • Cybersecurity best practices partially deployed
  • Some employees work from home

High complexity

~ $95/workstation/month

  • Multiple sites extending beyond the West GTA
  • On-premise out-of-warranty servers running unsupported operating systems (e.g. Windows Server 2003 or 2008)
  • Proprietary VPN (e.g. GlobalProtect, AnyConnect)
  • Custom VoIP solution (e.g. Asterisk PBX)
  • Some workstations running Windows 7/8/8.1
  • Out-of-warranty networking hardware
  • Specialized, custom, and/or open source software deployed
  • Real-time failover/high uptime requirements
  • Weak cybersecurity controls
  • Off-site workforce (e.g. construction site trailers, mobile teams)

Pricing FAQ

We quote your support plan based on your current state and work with you to plan the necessary projects to reduce your complexity. Once these projects have been completed, we would reduce your monthly support plan pricing accordingly, regardless of where you are in your contract term.

We typically sign a one-year contract with our clients. However, if you are not satisfied with the service you receive within the first 3 months, you can cancel with no penalty.
